Under the title “Allegories & Muses” and for about 40 days, Macart Cultural Space hosted 93 works by two internationally recognized Bulgarian visual artists who have been living and working permanently in Canada since 1993, Daniela Zekina and Peter Boyadjieff. Painter and engraver Daniela Zekina, graduate of the National School of Fine Arts in Sofia, presented the 9 Muses of Greek mythology, not only as mythical characters, but also as symbols of inspiration, captured with her own modern eye. Designer Peter Boyadjieff, also a graduate of the Sofia National School of Fine Arts with a master in graphic design and digital arts from the Bulgarian National Academy of Fine Arts, has presented his works in many solo exhibitions in Europe, America, Asia and Australia, having won many important awards. The date of the opening on Thursday May 24, was chosen on the occasion of the National Day of the Bulgarian Culture and Literacy. It is worth noting that the “Allegories & Muses” exhibition was held under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Hellenic-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, as well as the University of Western Attica.
