In addition to the above, photographs of the well-known journalist-author Nikos Vatopoulos and the painter Achilleas Christidis were also exhibited for his involvement with the history of Athens. Two younger photographers, Dimitra Varouxi and Thanasis Zekos, also participated. This event is a continuation of the very successful “intermediate spaces” exhibition that took place in January 2015, gathering the interest of visual artists, journalists, photography schools and associations, schools, as well as a large number of art lovers. This time, the participating artists, through 39 images, presented their own perspective on the closed city, the famous city of Athens, which lives today exchanging its glorious past with the rhythms of its tensions and contrasts. The exhibition was held under the auspices of the Department of Photography and Audiovisual Arts of the University of Western Attica. On the occasion of the event, a catalog of the participants’ works was published, in 500 numbered copies, which was distributed free of charge to the visitors.
